15 ec300e - half power

Recommended Posts

pulled bike out of shop last night and headed out for a cruise.    everything snappy and healthy for the first 4 miles, then it started to bog down.   I slowed to a stop to switch tank valve to reserve - thinking I was out of gas - but that wasn't the case.

It sounds like it wont get into the pipe at all.   Almost like power valves not moving on a snowmobile.    Any ideas?     These have a centrifugal power valve?

Centrifugal, yes.

The linkage can be seen under the right side cover on the cylinder head.

if the corner of the reed breaks off then you get sudden and large negative change in power.

also if some trash enters the main jet to partially block it then the power will change suddenly.

also completely clean your spark plug.

update - the power valve linkage fell apart - another critical bolt fell out of this bike.    Not a surprise, there's been a bunch of them rattle out.    thanks for the help Dave cr
