Just put a JD jeting kit in my friends WR426 and I was wondering what the switch mounted near the top of the carb on the choke side is. It is attached to the throttle shaft and bolts on with 2 allen screws with tits in the middle of the recess and it's adjustable. thanks

TPS. Throttle position sensor

thanks, what does the throttle position sensor do? and what are the side effects if I don't have it adjusted right.

It's a potentiometer.....varies the resistance with throttle opening. The CDI uses it to determine the ignition advance setting.
