Missing Hot Start Circuit 2008 YZ250f

Recommended Posts

so, if some one snapped the cable and "took he stuff out of the carb" how much of a PITA is it to fix it? Do I even need to?

If it's similar to my CRF250X Keihin FCR carburetor (very likely)

you can replace the whole hot start assembly (cable, lever, plastic nut etc. ) with a simple 'choke' like plunger mounted directly on the carb.

Perhaps not as convenient to reach under the fuel tank and operate than a handlebar mounted lever but

in a non-competitive usage the extra time to find and operate it is a non-issue.

Yamaha part number:  5TA-14171-00-00   STARTER, PLUNGER

I used the other part number, the larger outer diameter knob is easier to grab

plus without looking I can tell which is which by feel, not to pull the actual choke out by mistake.
