SSR 125 clutch problems

Recommended Posts

Recently tried adjusting the clutch on my SSR 125. While the bike is not running With the clutch lever fully let out in 1st gear, the bike will still move, not a great amount, I need to push the tire for this to happen. Still shouldn't be any movement when the clutch is fully disengaged. To top it off, with the clutch fully engaged the bike is still hard to move. Any help is welcome

The first thing to do is to adjust the inline cable adjuster all the way in, and do the same with the adjuster on the clutch perch. Then make sure the plate with the adjuster stud and jamnut is set so it is just touching the actuator arm inside the right side engine cover. Lift the actuator arm with one hand and turn the inline adjuster out to take up some of the cable slack. You then adjust at the clutch perch to get the "nickel width" gap between the clutch lever and perch. The inline adjuster is for taking up most of the slack, and you fine tune it at the perch end. If either adjuster (inline or perch) has to be run out and comes apart, chances are your clutch cable is stretched and needs to be replaced.
