Will the 36 Mikuni BSR CV handle a BB/Stroker

Recommended Posts

Basically, building my own 470 stroker and bb using stock cams for now. I do have a JD Jet kit, and can change the jets. I also have a full Yosh RS3 exhaust. Want to make sure the Mikuni can support it. Will eventually go with a 39 or 41 FCR or a 40CVK

I do not know what you mean by support it.  Sure it will run and run fine but not to full potential.  You might even like it depending on what you want from the motorcycle.

I mean support it, like will it be ok for now? Sounds like you answered yes. My bb/stroker is going to tap me out $ wise for a little while.

It will be OK for now.  The carb and cams and displacement increase will really give strong low end, not so much on top.

Is the wide ratio gear set part of the build?

It will be fine.

You are doing exactly what I did, with the only difference being that I have an FMF exhaust.

The 36 started well, idled well, had nice crisp throttle response. It also got FANTASTIC fuel mileage.

Later I found a nice 39 FCR, and of course, there is a nice performance improvement.
