xl600r hand control replacements

hey gang! getting real tired of my dumb bendy brake lever and would like to replace it. i'm not looking for another oem lever, i'd like one of those neato aluminum shorty ones you see all over the place. specifically something like this, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M5CWGBR/ref=sxr_pa_click_within_right_3?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_p=3008539542&pf_rd_r=F1HNY7K9DPHZJX9T6Y1P&pd_rd_wg=c1Tbo&pf_rd_s=desktop-rhs-carousels&pf_rd_t=301&pd_rd_w=ZUArC&pf_rd_i=brake+lever+xl600&pd_rd_r=D87B2CP58VBM9SPP2QN0&psc=1

it doesn't look like something like that exists for the xl600r master cylinder, but is there another bike thats relatively close with a lever i could modify with a dremel? or am i gonna have to find a replacement master cylinder and find a lever to match that one?

Get ASVs and never regret your purchase. Get brand new warrantied sets full price. Or call up their warehouse and get unwarrantied refurbished sets for cheaper.

Red f3s are my suggestion

XR250R levers should fit , but won't work with the stock front brake light switch. You would need a hydraulic switch. I've got a couple of different sets of shorty levers for my XR650L.  One set is MSR and the other , Trackside from Cycle Gear.

alright ill try xr250 levers and will get one of those banjo bolt switches and report back.

Use an xr250l lever you could use the same switch thats on the master and save your money not getting a hydro switch.

R is a racebike

L is more road worthy

I haven't seen shorty levers for the 250L , it's older than the R.

Off topic : Hey Patrick, Did you get your bike running with my cam ?

Haven't heard from you , Bob .

oh bob! yes! took a video of it too! - now all of you guys can see how weird lookin' i am!

oh and follow up for the hand control question.

i got the levers from  amazon,

a handful of years of the xr250r as well as the xr400 is the listed application. bolted pretty easily to my xl600. just had to enlarge the brake pivot hold on the brake lever. there is even a little  metal bit thats adjustable that presses the brake switch so i didn't even have to run a hydraulic switch to use my brake light.
