Rings - Piston

So I guess this one is intended to be a bit of a poll and debate, some may view as a troll.  Looking for input from those general all round all purpose recreation riders who keep in tune with their bike and want to keep it well maintained without gold plating everything and dumping dollar after dollar into the bike. ...

Here is the question:  What is the general consensus on replacing rings but not the piston?  I will vote first.  We seem to do just fine going through 3 sets of rings per piston over here under said riding conditions.

Im with you 100% on just new rings and a good scotch brite wd40 cylinder scrub. 

Three ring sets is the price of one piston!...
