What lenght are DZUS fasteners on the airbox?

So, what length are the DZUS screws/fasteners on the airbox cover?

1" from the top of the head to the tip

the head itself is 1/8" thick ---- so maybe the shaft length is 7/8"

i measured mine, but what I'm unclear on is whether you measure to the top of the thread or the bottom. Seems they must be 15mm or 17mm, but I'm not sure what the convention for top or bottom of thread is.

usually with bolts, you measure just the shank only, the head isn't included....

ok, so kurveygurl shows them being measured from the underside of the head (like a regular bolt) to the center of the "threads"

so by that reasoning, they are 3/4"

also, ebay has some for the drz400s, if you want to look into that route... they are quite expensive though, but if you really want them, gotta pay to play ?

3/4= .75 X 25.4 = 19mm  ?

Wasn't going to pay $20 for keepers. Paid $10 for four Dzus and started the hunt.

Ok, seller measured the overall length rather than the engagement length as Jimbo illustrated with his research.

Ok,

Refund from EBay seller for the short fasteners.

DRZ400 working length, according to KurveyGurl is 21mm. Order placed with KG; $25 for three.

So, if your adding side covers, budget $10 for heat shield and $25 for fasteners.
