18" tube on 19" rim

Recommended Posts

It'll work fine.  Tubes stretch pretty easy.  I've seen a 21" tube in a 19" wheel.  Worked fine.

It will work but not the best ideal situation... When riding many of us will carry a 21 inch tube so that we can place in the front or back supporting 21, 18 and 19 inch diameters in an emergency case so you don't have to carry 2 tubes. But I wouldn't place an 18 in a 19 if you plan on leaving it in there for any length of time such as the full tire wear. Rubber is playable and will stretch but you are starting it off stretched and you can become more prone to pinch flats from it sinc eit would be in a thinned stretched state.

It'll work. Right?

Sure.

You can troll with a 200hp engine too.

Both have about the same end result.

A 21 in a 19 is different because you're not stretching the tube though

Either way, I figure you're not stretching the 18" all that much. There's a ton of rubber in that tube. It's like 3mm thick. I'm sure it'll pop right on. Hell, I've seen two guys almost get a 18" tire on a 19" rim lmao!!! Drunken night...

I just ditched my 18" tube setup and went tubliss. My buddy with a 19" has a flat... I'll never use this 18" tube again. He may as well try using it eh?

I'll let it guys know!! I'm 90% sure it'll work haha

Ya I carry a 21" tube in my pack cus it will work in both my front/rear.

Otherwise I would LOVE to see a video of dudes putting an 18" tire on a 19" rim :)

I use a thicker than 3MM rear tube but in a pinch, I'm sure a 18" tube would work fine if you got it mounted without puncturing in the process.

Garrett Poucher and Skyler Howes of Garrett Offroad Racing are headed to Dakar!  These US privateers are headed there for their first times but Skyler is fresh off a victory at last week's Baja Rally, won the Sonora Rally in March and this team placed third in the Baja 1000.

They have a fundraising link set up and could use your help.
I raced with Garrett at Baja Rally last year and then both of them at Sonora and was honored to pit with them as well.  They're both super guys and work their assess off.  I think they both have good chances of not only finishing the 11 days of Dakar but placing well.
They're doing some rally training events this Sat, Oct 20 in Santa Clarita, CA and then another Oct 28th in St. George Utah so if you've ever considered learning rally raid navigation, this is your chance!  It's a lot of fun too.  More info on that at the link.

Looking to buy a used Beta 2017 500 RRS from outside California.  Can I plate (Register with CA DMV) the bike in CA?  If so what is the best way?  Don't have the money to put down for a new bike from a Dealer in CA.  Any help or sugguestions would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance.
