CRF250L Turn Signals

Recommended Posts

I mess up, clip trees and generally bail a decent amount when woods riding. I'm tired of replacing turn signals all the time (I literally have a bunch of replacements because I break them so often) so I went on the hunt for a super tough alternative.

A random handful of often used replacements I grabbed out of the parts bin:

My rear DRC is all misaligned from looping the bike a time or five, and small as they are the DRC signals break off super easy:

The front signals don't break as easily but they are still pretty fragile. Last weekend I had to grab a stick and the black tape out of my backpack for a make shift fix:

Here is what I am hoping will be the solution, just showed up in the mail today. They were bloody expensive but I'm optimistic it will be a one time expense:

I'll post pics once they are installed.

I have heard nothing but good things about the Tuff Lites ... thats why they we hard to get for so long. People love and swear by them ...   I will be looking forward to your review as I need to order a set for myself.

Again I ask, are flush mount/integrated signals illegal, not DOT approved, even though so many street fighters use them? Just curious why guys put these stick ons ON? I've been thru jungles, ride on the hiway, never a question about visibility or harm. Just a comment!

Mixed feelings on the build quality of these signals. The signal itself feels well made and durable, we'll see after a couple of wipe outs how they hold up.

The part I'm not impressed with is the wiring. These signals are $70 a pair + shipping. Below is a pic of the stock DRC signal and the new Tuff Lite. For the price paid I expect to have thicker gauge wiring. Seems to me that if any moisture gets in it'll corrode through something that thin in short order.

i swapped my turn signals out for two strips of self adhesive amber LEDs (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0179FOLOY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) then mounted them on the handguards. had to put some diodes in to restore DRL and fix the fast flash, but not much extra effort. the strips themselves are reasonably indestructible and waterproof obviously the weak link are the handguards that could shatter or whatever and need to be replaced. but the LEDs themselves should survive just about anything. if you like crush the diode on the end of the strip, the rest of them will still work.

I have experienced light bulb sockets corrosion last season.rust3.jpg.4ee872bc195cb6b9470858c559353e09.jpgrust2.thumb.jpg.a12c0096074aac841d58152b9930dc49.jpg

I Found these inexpensive LED turn signals that fit inside the stock housing.LED.jpg.28597e099068f61d2b0fb9f068cf5a4a.jpg

After trimming the metal threaded part, I was able to fit the LED Inside the turn signal

Completed LED replacement

AliExpress and I only had to wait 42 Days for delivery .

LF1-S-PIN is also available from US/CDN distributors lot faster if you don't want to wait (price range from $6.00-$12.00USD +shipping).

They are also sellers on Ebay, Amazon... just have to shop around a little
