Frogzskin 3x3

I'm modding my air box next week. I read a lot about it. I intend to do the 3x3 mod. My local dealer recommended using frogzskin to cover the opening to help prevent water and dirt from getting it. Obviously, any amount of covering is going to limit the air flow again.

I was thinking I might cut the hole, adjust the jetting, put the mesh on, and see how it runs. If it's too restrictive, I might cut additional smaller holes as needed. Does anyone have any experience with this mesh? By how much does it limit air flow?

your overthinking it if the water is up that high your gonna have problems no matter what its not a submarine ? just cut the 3x3 and rejet

I don't intend to drive through anything that deep. I'm more worried about water accumulating on the air box when it's raining.

mmm i dont think much /  any water will get there when its covered by the seat, but if you keep it outdoors ok maybe some might get in there but there is a drain at the bottom of the airbox for any small amount that gets in there and the well oiled but not over oiled filter w waterproof gease at the seal that you run will prevent any small amount from entering the intake tract. ?

Ah I had seen the knob at the bottom. Wasn't 100% sure if it was a drain. In that case I'll be fine. It wouldn't have been an issue standing in the rain. I like to ride in the rain.
