ktm forks lowered 53mm, oil height/air chamber stays the same?

Recommended Posts

Just got done putting in some shorter springs and making a spacer to achieve 53mm of lowering on the forks to compliment a 53mm lower right height on the back as well. First time doing this.

Wondering does the oil height stay the same (145mm stock) or do I remove the same amount from the oil height as I did the overall travel so: 53mm-145mm= 92mm oil height.

I would run 135mm as you have less travel and need it to ramp up faster for bottoming

winning by 4:1 lol

ok.. thanks mog. I was thinking in for some reason I needed to subtract since I lowered the forks and set it at 92mm then got to thinking about it. thanks for clearing that up. Makes sense to me now. air chamber length has everything to do with bottoming resistance at the end of the travel. not so much the length of the stroke.
