Electrocuted through bars while riding in rain??

Recommended Posts

19 hours on my 2017 tx300 and on my first ride and the rain I was electrocuted at least a dozen times through the Brake & Clutch lever. Bike is totally stock except for some protection pieces and it has not had any crashes over 5 miles per hour, I'm a little pissed considering this bike was $13,000 by the time I got a skid plate on it and it does not idle most of the time because of that crap carburetor.

Anybody else get shocked while riding what was the problem?

I had this same problem on an $80 200cc China atv I took off the controls and wrapped electrical tape around the bars then called it a day

Sorry I can't be much help

Or something silly like the spark plug lead intermittently grounding on the frame. Check ALL electrical connections for tightness, and any frayed insulation on all wires. Sorry to hear that your new bike is having issues.

JD Jetting has a kit that will fix the problems with your carb. Will require a re-jet of the carb, and opening up the air box to get more air in. My buddy just had to do this on his '17 250 smoker that had under 5 hours on it....

Yep, you've got something grounding out somewhere.....trace your wires to find it.

By the way, you don't survive being electrocuted....you were shocked
