2017 500 EXC - Intermittent Running

Recommended Posts

Check out the ADV rider who found loose crimping under the ground wire heat shrink:

Think I'll pull mine, remove the insulation and use a punch to check crimp tension. We had this happen on the June ride to a 2014 450 XC (+ wire)

I'll tell Bob, same thing on his '14 XCW on the Nevada ride. Bike would idle and cut out on acceleration. When Kips same bike did it this year, I had them pop the seat.

The '14's might have a specific issue with breaking. This post is for the '17 riders with intermittent running issues checking the crimp grip on the battery strap. You should be able to pull on the wire with pliers to check for a secure connection.
