KX250 Harder to Start Than CRF250X?

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone, I have a 2001 KX250, and a 2006 CRF250X. I have always had trouble starting the KX ever since I've owned it because I'm a small guy, so I've always bumpstarted it and just said it is what it is. However, recently I picked up the CRF and was amazed at how easy it is to kick over.. nothing like the KX. The KX has 190psi, new plug, runs amazing once I bumpstart it. Is this normal that my 2 stroke 250 is way harder to kick over than the 4 stroke? The crf is mint also, I got it from a friend who was moving and he rarely rode it ever, him being the only owner since 2007

Thank you will, I do tend to jump down on it when it's being stubborn. But either way, the KX is still WAY harder to push down than the CRF. Is there any abnormality to that?

The kx probably has higher compression then crf when kicking it, esp if the crf has a decompression valve. If your getting a good kick and it's not firing could just be a small tweak in your carb settings.
