After some research I have come to the conclusion that my 1993 RM250 is sleeved. Am I right?

A magnet sticks to the cylinder wall.

It seems there is some confusion about the magnet thing.

Definitely sleeved as well as having some port work done.  Do you have any real history on the bike?

Unfortunately I do not. The PO was a stoner (said he's gathering money to start a grow shop) and the reason it needs a rebuild is because he put an older radiator on the bike. 1989 style and the upper crossover tube was being blocked by the steering stem not allowing proper flow.

I'm in the process of fixing it up and making it my weekend rider. $300.  It came with V-Force Reed's, FMF pipe/silencer, Answer handlebars and stem, brand new tires and good plastics. Figured worst case scenario I can part it out and  make $. Gotta 2 strokes.

You could always send the cylinder off to LA Sleeve and have them bore it out to a 265cc.  Then let your buddies try to figure out why they are having so much trouble keeping up with an older bike.
