Adjusting efi for altitude

Recommended Posts

So I'm brining my 09 kx450f that has efi from New Hampshire to Montana. There's about a 4000' altitude difference so I'm assuming I'm going to need to adjust something to compensate for that difference. My guess is I that I would have to lean up the fuel to air mixture but I'm not sure if that's right. And I'm not certain on how to adjust that on this specific bike.

Thanks

as you said, its an efi bike that has an air pressure sensor. the efi should compensate for that....

it will only do minor adjustments. They dont have a sensor for what you really need.  So you can send it in for a remap thats bout it.

Trust me . We raced Mammoth and had to have team green do a track side remap. The bike dont adjust shit automatically. But thats like 8,000ft.  4,000 you should be fine

Its not really an adjustment.  They run open loop off of sensor inputs.  Throttle position, air temp and barometric pressure are the basics.  I don't know if its a continuous correction or it it goes by the initial baro reading.

I bet it runs fine.
