Keep that chain clean and lubed on the fly for long dirty rides.

Recommended Posts

Chainsaver is a great chain lube with self cleaning properties. Just needs to be refreshed more often when hitting a lot of dirt and dust. Unlike "dirty" chain lubes... wax or oil.... it does not make dirt cling to your chain. As a result you do need to refresh it more often in dirty ass conditions like lose dirt and deep sand washes.

So I got a nice long hose http://a.co/bNZYKAS and ran a line down to the chain guide to dispense the spray on the fly while riding. I use a mini can of Chainsaver strapped to my bar and dispense it with my left hand. Keeps chain running smooth and quiet. No mess or oil anywhere around the chain or sprockets. No stiff links. This is on my mini adv bike... KTM 350 exc-f , but I've done similar setups on other bigger ADV bikes with chains.

I run O-ring chains and the only lube they get is from the kerosene used for infrequent cleanings. Works for me.
