Keihin fcr 40 idle screw issue

Recommended Posts

So my extended idle screw on my fcr 40 does not turn smoothly and during adjustment it feels like the spring wants to bing up and if you don't turn enough it bounces back. Any ideas or is this not

Normal.

Not normal.

If it's a cheap aluminum screw replace it with an R&D flex jet fuel screw.

Honestly I think its the stock screw. And I meant to say bind. It's like it gets to a certain point turning in or out and it comes in a slight bind and then if you pass the bind it either idles up or down to much. I hate the location of the mixture screws on the FCR 40 carbs.

He said IDLE SCREW
If he meant idle screw, then the idle screw (which is extened) spring cable has broken, or is about to. Replace it.
Pull the throttle wheel cover off to inspect.

Yeah, it may be time to have my eyes checked.
