Hey,

I've had my 01 cr125 (picture one) for sale on kjiji for a while now...No serious inquiries until someone messages me pictures of a 01 yz450f (picture two) that he's willing to trade (evenly) for mine. He says the engine was fully rebuilt about 15 hours ago.  Not sure if this is a good deal?  Any known problems with the 450?  It looks like its in decent shape?

Thanks in advance.

To begin with the 450 was only introduced in 2003 so even his basic infos aren't accurate.

1998-2000:   YZ400F

2001-2002:   YZ426F

2003-current: YZ450F

I wouldn't trade, IMO any year 125 in decent shape is more desirable than a 15 year old 4T.

One very small but important detail I notice from the pic is that it looks to be missing the rear inner fender mud flap.

A mundane 12$ part that if missing exposes an expensive shock shaft to damage.

Ridden in such manner for any length of time,

the shock shaft may be pitted from sand and rocks blasting off the tire.

IF, and a big IF, that is a yz 450, its worth maybe 1300$ in my area, as with your CR is easily worth 1600-2200$. these are just what they're going for in my area, but either way, you'd be getting the downside of the deal.
