Why are clutch plates so loud

Recommended Posts

Why are clutch plates so loud on a 2017 450sxf you can kind of hear it rattling until you pull in the clutch lever then it goes away no problems though why doesn't make that noise is that normal to have the plates rat a little bit.

Do you have an aluminum skid plate on?  They tend to amplify the sound.

Dave

Just put a skid plate  on my wr250f and sounded much different, thought it was selfdistructing but remembered the AL-U-MIN-E-M will reflect ALL the sound back up to me.

No skid plate yet but it will be a polymer one. Does anyone know of any thing that may vibrate somewhere up front when the rpms come up a little but its not in the motor must just be vibration or the clutch plates.
