Case splitting

Hey guys need a little help here, trying to change my connecting rod right now and I was hoping to do it without completely taking apart the right side of the engine.

Is this possible?

Right now I'm completely torn down and the case halves are apart but won't split more the a quarter inch. Clutch is out, right side case cover is off, all case bolts are out as well as everything off of the left side.

Basically what I'm asking is do you need to remove the oil pump, kick start mech and all that on the right side in order to split the halves? Or is something else holding me up?

The more stuff to take apart, The more you can see and inspect, The more you can ensure is completely clean of any steel flakes or other floating bits, The less you will wonder about later.
When going that deep I recommend taking everything apart for the above reasons.
