06 yz250f no fuel intake and won't start

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Got out of the Marine Corps little over a year ago now and my Dirtbike has been stuck in cali, finally got it to me here in nc and I'm trying to get it started. Replaced the fuel with new premium and tried kicking her over. Everything sounds fine but I keep kicking and nothing. Took the spark plug out it was dry and spotted. Let it sit in gas for a few minutes then stuck it in and tried again got nothung. I'm currently going to get a new spark plug now and maybe some ether to see what happens. If that don't work any suggestions?

Side note, bike was stolen from me and I got it back when I found it. It started perfectly fine. No idea how long it was sitting before last started before I found it. This was around October of last year.

Update: put new spark plug in soraid carb/throttle body cleaner and starting fluid in there. Kicked it good a few times she started for like 2 seconds then shuts off. Only happens when I spray one of the two in either intake or spark plug whole. Not sure what the petcok is though. I'm used to messing with quads.. also here's a few pics of my bike.

If it ever ran well with the jetting it has not, DO NOT discriminately change the jetting.

Do not use plug color as a guide to jetting. Pump fuel makes colors on it's own, so you will go in circle.

Use the stock jetting, or go to MXA jetting 2006 yz250f and copy theirs
