Anyone recognize this bike?

Recommended Posts

It took me a bit to fully wrap my pea-brain around it, but the original exhaust grille is covering a custom radiator. I believe it's a 125 due to the size of the chamber. But what I saw first was the wheels, then the brakes, then the pipe, and my buddy had to point out the radiator. Very clean and well executed upgrades. I was hoping that this great network of like-minded enthusiasts (we're not a gang!) would have some leads.

I know! It was the clutch cover that warped my perception. I figured out the wheels and pipe first, then went "hey, waitaminnit..."

The detail in person was much higher than you can see from the pics. The engine mount bolts, everything was perfect. No cobbled together shed special on this. Frame looked painted instead of powder coated, which is a nice touch. Too much powder on customs these days.

Best of old and new. Low seat height more power and more stopping. Wish I had the skills to do something similar.

I saw that bike not sure who's it was definitely a yz125 engine. You see my black Suzuki rgv 250? It was parked next to my friends rvf400 and a white nsr 250.

Probably... I was on a KR1 (1990?) and my friends were on a CBR250RR (black), white 55 pan head, and a cherry unrestored 19XX CB350, completely original or NOS. Lots of cool bikes there. We (I) ended having the RH crank seal fail on the KR1 at about 160KMH (100 MPH, on a closed course, of course), so we went back and I got to ride the TZR250 (after a short stint on the CBR250RR). It's great to have cool friends with cool bikes.

I saw that kr1 it's an 89 my friend has one too and that same tzr. Along with a nsr150sp he wanted to ride this year but it wasn't ready and the rvf 400 he rode and a 87 tzr 250 a 85 rg250 and a bit of a tzr 250 hybrid coming.

I own the 90 rgv 250 and the white 90 nsr 250 with 05 cbr replica fairing kit. I have a 95 tzr 250 I hope to take next year.  I'm pretty familiar with those japan imports.

I did get to see that dt/yz 125 run and ride down the street.

Yup, that was the KR1 that I rode and the CBR250RR that I followed. Same owner on both bikes; we picked up the TZR after we got back to Port Orchard and it wasn't on the island.

Nice RGV! Tim just has to assemble his and it will be ready for next year. The last bike he wants to add is an NS400, so if you hear of or see one, let me know and I'll pass along the info. He is still looking long and hard (heh heh) ad the NSR250 that was there, but it's a bit ratty for the price and not that rare. Must be nice to be that selective of unobtanium...

You mean that 89 nsr terra edition guy who owns it is a importer / flipper. They buy those bikes for half of what they are asking easily and it STILL needs a full restore. It's the hot thing lately since they are getting old enough to do.

He asking 7k probably bought it for 3k in japan. My friend wants a ns400 too not to hard to find them in Japan in the 5 to 7k range. Google dmr Japan and check out the cool parts he makes for them.

My 95 tzr project and my friends kr1 tzr and nsr 150sp.
