1997 YZ125 Waterpump Dissembly Question

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I am having to replace my crankcase cover as it has a crack around the kickshaft area. The crankcase cover is on its way but in the mean time I thought I would start pulling things out of the old one so I know what needs to go back in. I managed to get the waterpump shaft out and one seal im left with whats pictured. How does this come out? Is this just a bearing?

Thanks

Behind the impeller is one seal, Inside the case is a bearing, and one seal. That apears to be the seal behind impeller, and you will not be using that case so leave it, like the inner seal and bearing. Buy new now.

Is there a possibility that before 1998 they didn't use removal bearings? I checked 1996 and it looked like the diagram above, but here's 1998 which has the bearing and other seal you talk of.
