KTM 300 odd sound when revved

Recommended Posts

Bought this bike a few weeks ago and just started making a weird sound when revved, hard to explain but I will post a link at the end. Never had a problem like this before only noticed it when I replaced the stock silencer with a FMF powercore 2. Mind the dirt I wanted to record the sound after a ride

Any help would be great, Thanks

It might be as simple as tightening up your rear brake pedal that looks pretty loose.  Or might be something else similarly loose and rattling.  Mine makes a similar noise and is just some of the body work around the rear fender.  If I hold my hand on it with some pressure the noise goes away.

I had a similar sound on my bike and it ended up being worn out o-rings on the pipe where it goes into the head. Press against the pipe with your hand or foot while revving and see if the sound goes away.

thank you for all the help! All I had to do was replace the o-rings, well for starters their was only 1 and it was very worn so chucked 2 new ones in and that sound has gone.

Thanks again :)
