WHERE DOES THIS HOSE GO!!!??

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone

I'm deleting my overflow bottle and noticed a hose coming from my crankcase breather #12 in the diagram

Does this feed into the top of the overflow???

If so can I just re-route it to my new catch can?

Appreciated

Brett

It goes to the airboot to combust oil vapor per emissions regulations. You can vent it to atmosphere. I'd recommend not removing the box.

To the AIRBOOT. The vapor goes back through your carb and is combusted by the engine.

The box I was referring to was the crank case breather box. Nothing good comes from removing it.

Thanks man but my airboot and airbox don't have any nipples for this hose to attach to. I've got a DR-Z400E so maybe it's differrent.

That's why I assumed it went to the top nipple of the overflow

Any ideas?

THe hose I have is about 350mm long

Ah, yes the E model is different. It just vents to atmosphere. I believe it goes to the ground but I am not sure. Basically it can go anywhere though. You can put a pod filter on it like I have if you want. I used Uni Filter UP122.
