98 250sx

Im picking up a 98 250sx tomorrow with 8hrs on a fresh rebuild. I know in 99 or 2000 is when they went to hydro clutches. Would any of those years bolt right up to a 98?

Can be if you get the right parts. Won't be as simple as buying slave, line, mc...

 

99 was the first year.

Are the internals different as well?

The actuator rod is probably different, etc. More or less the same bottom end, the left case will be different because of the hydro. If it was me, I would just run hymec unit, unless you can find a used bottom end maybe.

How are those magura kits?

They work well for what they are.

Well before i jump the gun gonna get the bike in the morning and take a look at it.

What is the seller looking to get?? The handlebars, levers, brake pedal look shagged. Any proof of rebuild?

New wiseco top end and head

new fmf header

new tires

throttle cable. Bike runs good. Have levers and pegs at my house that fit and work. Gotta get a new rear break lever. Traded a 99 wr400 basket case for it. Only issue im having is i think theres a bushing missing on the clutch cable side.

The cable just drops in

A new high quality cable will work as smooth as a hydraulic clutch for a while!

Not worth the cost of conversion in my opinion. Just replace the cable more often.

Yea. I just had to mAke a bushing so the cable doesnt drop all the way down in the case.
