Update 2003 controls?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone updated the controls?  Mine are faded and it doesn't look like it would be easy to paint them.  Would like to get some newer controls but I'm not sure what's possible.

Turns out I have some aftermarket unit on mine and not OEM.  I went ahead and ordered these based on a review.  I really like the layout of them.  We'll see how it goes.  I'm a little worried about the throttle linkage, but it looks like I can rotate it forward a little and have enough room for the start / stop.  For $10 you can't really go wrong.

Sorry to hijack but if you replace the stock unit or add a Trail Tech, can you program the mileage?

I'm not sure if you can adjust the main Odometer but I know it has two other mileage settings that you can adjust.  I have the Trail Tech Endurance II.  Pretty happy with mine. If you need an OEM setup I have one I'm not using that only has around 412 miles on it. PM me if you are interested.

Interested in seeing how this works. You might want to change-out the connectors for OEM units. You can find the connectors (or use the old ones) and the proper crimping and pin-out tools here:

Nice link!  Thank you.  I have to see what I have to work with.   I started a build thread.  I'll post on the controls when they come in and I start to install them...

Yes you can
Search google for "how to set odometer trail tech vapor" or something like that. Theres a certain wheel size you enter and it allows you to set odo/hour meter. Not "supposed" to know about it, but it works, did it on mine.
