Interference/press fit dimensions

For a crankshaft that has an interference or press-fit in the main bearings in a 2T, how much should the interference  be?  Should the crank be .001" larger or .0005 or...?  I've had trouble now with 2 Suzuki 2 strokes and the bearings were new, name-brand bearings so I'm quite sure the bearings are OK.  Anyone know the recommended amount?  I could at least measure them before install if not have the area sprayed like is done with auto cranks to increase diameter & repair damage.

mmm, but that's a crank, not a crank bearing fit.

Yes, looks like I missed that part..

I don't think you would want that on a bearing, as it would swage it open and reduce or eliminate the clearance

Service limit on the crank is usually - .001, Fit on bearing that size will generally be .0002 - .0003  But they are spec'd by the manufacturer. Just finished another 3 yr. stint at a bearing house/Machine shop for mfg.
