Testing out the new Yamahas

Sunday I drove up to NH to test out the new 2018 Yamahas. Overall I was very impressed. I didn't ride a bike that I didn't like. heres some videos from the day.

Are the FX 4stks as tall as the MX'rs?

From what I remember 'test sitting' on all the Yamahas during last winter's Salon de la Moto de Montréal 2017 (annual motorcycle show)

yes, unfortunately the whole lineup of YZ-F, FX's and WR's are all rather on the tall side.  (in the 38" seat height range, I'm 5'8-1/2" so they all felt too tall)

 

Remember reading somewhere the FX and WR was due to the high battery mounting for rear suspension/wheel clearance issues.

I thought they all felt very low but I ride a PDS (linkless) KTM. I think my seat height measured at over 39 inches, that's a real world measurement.  Im 5' 7" with a 30 inch inseam so just about the shortest legs of all the people I ride with.

I am 6'1' and when on a 450YZF I am tippy-toe from one side to another, ridiculous. If the 250FX is that tall I will pass on it. No way I want something that tall in the woods. Still haven't even seen one in my area.
