DRZ 400 stalls at higher speeds

Recommended Posts

I recently bought a 2006 DRZ 400 S with 1200 miles. The bike is stock except being jetted with K&N filter with airbox door removed. It runs & starts good, but dies when riding for few minutes at highway speeds. It bogs down like starving for gas, let it set for a second pull choke to restart, push choke in & bike continues to run for another few miles. I've cleaned bottom half of carb & jets nothing gummed or plugged. I have ran it on prime & reserve position with no fix. Bike does not stall at low speed runs 35mph. On 3rd tank of gas, so I think that eliminates bad fuel. My assumption is petcock or vacuum issue???

maybe .. first thing i would do is put a rag under the float bowl and drain it, after it stops put the knob to prime, it should free flow .. if it seems like its slow on thw flow the screen on top of the float valve may be plugged with gerbil hair ect ..
