Beta's Steve Holcombe looks to clinch the EnduroGP title at his home round Hawkstone Park

Recommended Posts

I sure would like to find a stream on this!

I've started a thread at VitalMX http://www.vitalmx.com/forums/Moto-Related,20/Betas-Steve-Holcombe-leads-EnduroGP-going-into-his-home-round-at-Hawkstone-Park-this-weekend,1326881 but my Beta Buddies is where the Kool Aid is sprayed on the victory podium!

Beta has a chance to take 2 titles this year, obviously EnduroGP, but Brad Freeman is only a few points back with 100 max points still left to go, and he smoked everyone at Hawkstone Park earlier this year at the national round, so he should really have a good shot after missing the 1st round.

pasted from the above link:

2 weekends left; UK and Germany, each round has 2 days with with 25 max points per day so 100 max points left with Holcombe maintaining a 37 point lead over the recent ISDE individual Champion Loic Larrieu on the Yamaha. Last Year's Champion Matt Phillips on the Sherco has moved into the top 3 (after announcing his retirement from the series). The possibility to clinch the title exists this weekend for Holcombe if he can extend his lead by 14 points.

Beta is doing a great job , you can call it a little miracle if you think that a couple of years ago beta was really close to go out of business , then they had decide to 'reset' everything , starting manufacturing themself engines and developing completely new bikes , and look the result ! 18.000 bikes sold last year and also other new special things for the future like ... 2 stroke fuel injection ( prototypes under tests and ready probably in 2020 )

Why do I get the feeling you are an insider? Welcome to the forum, we are always glad to have someone who knows about Beta.

I think Beta could have taken the EnduroGP title last year, not just the E3 title. It is my feeling that Beta valued and needed a world title so much, that they made the decision to lock in the sure thing and put Steve on safe mode in the final race instead of letting him go for the win and the title. I suspect we may see more of the same this weekend, and who could blame the business logic of it. I'm sure Steve would love to pin it to win it and take the title in front of his home crowd with a dominant performance, although there are risks he doesn't usually face, such as a crowded track on Sunday and a chance for someone to pull a Haaker and take him out riding a blue bike.

No , I'm not an insider ... but I know a person which works really close to beta , so a couple of news come out sometimes , also here in Italy is pretty easy to find or hear news about beta , just talking with dealers or surfing on the net . Holcombe is a very good rider , I hope ktm is not considering to take him away like Nambotin , who was the main GG rider ( before he left for the orange side ) . I would like to see also beta on extreme enduro with an official team , it would be great

Holcombe won all 6 Sprint Enduro special tests and 1 of 4 MX test so far with 3 3rd's and leads the day by 44 seconds with 2 tests to go. He maintains a 44 second lead on the day with his arch rival Larrieu in 4th and moving back after Watson has won 3 of the MX tests.

Beta has 3 riders in the top 10 Today in the GP class, and 3 in the top 5 in the Juniors! Outstanding performance so far.

Brad Freeman on the Beta has won 4 MX special tests and taken over the lead on the day with his arch rival also Soreca also running 4th and having Correa on the Beta in 3rd in between them is helping on the points.

Holcombe wins the day by 33 seconds! Larrieu pull out the stops to win the final MX test, but finishes 4th on the day by 1 second losing valuable points in his championship bid.

Holcombe is now well positioned to clinch Sunday!

Freeman wins the day in the Juniors with Sorreca 4th on the day. Still awaiting the points, but it appears Freeman will have taken over the lead!

Pascal Rauchenecker is the BIG winner of this very first Cross Country in the World Series!
He wins also E2 Class while Nathan Watson after an exciting fight with Christophe Charlier wins EnduroGP Class

still no news on the Championship, with Steve only needing 7 points all he needed was top 10...Really bad coverage
