Wr426 tight trail, bike got, hard to start when this hot.

Recommended Posts

I have ride some very tight trail for 2 days, bike gets very hot. When i fall or stall it, it's hard to start,, even usiong hot start plunger. If it's left to sit for bit, starts right up.

Any trick with fuel or what ever to make it start better when this hot ?

First, get a R&D fuel screw and adjust it on a hot motor, starting with a very low idle, and raise idle with the fuel screw

I would do a leak down test. On a motor that old, that chances of the valves not being mushroomed are very slim

Had the bike for 5 years. 2 years ago I toasted crank bearing, I rebuilt it,,, everything but the top head, everything looked fine. I did notice 1 valve was at the end of it's tolerance, I left it,,, that was 2 yrs ago.
Bet that's it.

There you have it

If you have do shim again soon, don't do it; rebuild the head before you throw a valve
