No spark

Recommended Posts

Can bad valves lead to no spark? I replaced every electrical component on my 2004 Crf250r and it will only bump start. I checked the valves and they're at zero could this be the problem?

Zero'd out valves indeed would make it difficult to start but un-related to any ignition issues.

First and simplest thing to check is the kill button and it's circuit for grounding.

Your first post mentions it still bump starts, correct ?

If so, that would mean you do have spark.

Hard starting issues in these engines are generally caused by:

-dirty / out of adjustment carburetor

-out of adjustment / worn valvetrain (valves & seats)

That's what I've been thinking but I've replaced every electrical component

Mate... if your valves are zero then thats you problem. It has NOTHING to do with any electrical component what so ever. Shin your valves and it will start second kick guaranteed.
