xTrainer - Lowering Rear Brake Pedal

Recommended Posts

Hey All-

Anyway to lower the rear brake pedal? When viewed from the side my rear brake pedal rests higher than the footpeg. I think this is normal for this bike, however it doesn't really work well with my riding position and style. Anyway to lower it? I need about an inch for sure.

Remove the lock nut, and use plumbers tape on the threads. That gets you several more millimeters of drop.

You can also fashion a 'stop' on to the lever made from a notched piece of hardwood, holding it down lower,  before it engages.

Any chance that you have a pic?

TIA

That is a very elegant solution to lowering the brake pedal.

So far I have been able to adjust my brake low enough (kind of). I find it a pain that the return spring pulls the pedal all the way back and during brake application, you have to take up all that slop prior to getting any application on my XT.  Has anyone been able to implement a return stop?

I may have to take a deeper dive at this in the winter.

Thanks again!
