The FIA/FIM are evil. They have their finger in every pie except for NASCAR as far as I know. They've just about killed the NHRA. Every year there are less people at the race in Baytown. If you look at the history of the people who created and ran the FIA/FIM as well as the current affiliations of these organizations, there is a pattern that I find disturbing.

Hopefully once they kill off Outdoors the reboot will see separation.

If the outdoor races tank, I don't believe the chances of someone else taking over the series is very good or it being very good. It's not a very good example but look at supermoto- it exploded and then imploded even faster. Supermoto is a hollow shell of what it was and what it could have been. I'm still bummed the promoter was incompetent and killed the races.

SM racing has definitely tanked however there has been an explosion in popularity with the public. 50 state plated bikes really helped this.

Moto at the pro level has been in a general decline over the last 8 or 9 years. Who knows, in 10 years, it might become the Anaheim Supercross Series lmao.

I'm still salty af over the cancelled SM race in Austin, no Freestone and no Houston Supercross last year. Texas and Florida are huge moto markets and they get snubbed. Florida definitely got screwed though.
