1992 YZ250 sag setting

I have been trying to set the sag on my bike, because it basically has none (maybe 2 inches, looking to get closer to 4”). I loosened the jam nut but the spring spanner nut is very difficult to turn (using a punch and hammer), and turning the spring itself is out of the question due to no room to grab it. Any idea if it is even possible to get 4 inches of sag out of the pink spring, and if possible a little help on the technique is appreciated. This thing is way too stiff as it is right now.

Put the bike on a stand and that the rear wheel is off the ground when trying to turn the nut.

A bit of WD-40 overnight might help loosen up any dirt caked in the threads.
