Older Dr D Carbon Fiber exhaust spark arrestor?

So I just bought a 2006 YZ250F and it has an older Dr D Carbon Fiber exhaust and I noticed that it did not have a spark arrestor which is needed to ride trials legally here in Oregon. So I did some research and I saw that you can't put one in there because it will damage the pipe. Does anyone know why this could damage it and is it possible to even put one in there?

Thanks, Talon

All the Dr d exhausts I have seen have spark arrestors, even the ones for yz250f.

Because the spark arrestor will build up heat an damage the carbon
