Power bomb or mega bomb for WR

Anyone have experience with both? This will be for my 08 WR250f strictly on trails. From reading descriptions on both the mega would be the answer for more torque but I would like input from those that have had these units. Thanks for the input.

Well I can tell you with a mega bomb it gives a little more torque but takes away top end on a 450. So it should do the same on a 250. I would go with the power bomb if you are going to use a bomb.

Thanks for the input. I don't ride aggressive by any means and I am sure the regular power bomb would be fine. Doing a full system over the winter, just seeing what others have experienced. Power bomb is definitely cheaper and I don't want to restrict top end too much.

Don't waste your money. If you want more bang for your buck then install a 270 or 290 BB kit.

Would still need a free flowing exhaust to make a BB worth the coin there. There is a thread showing dyno data from a guy who installed the BB with this exhaust system that rides in the same state as me, same elevation. Note well taken.

Just did a quick look around and came up with exhaust for corvettes and such, so what is this BB you are talking about? What did I miss this time, somebody please turn the lites on and no I'm not talking about Miller.

Big Bore kit. I think in the other thread he installed the 290, can't recall exactly.

OK, I got it now. Last thing I need is a bigger motor, I want more LOW end for in the hills and such.

In that thread, the BB did add low end, very minimal on top. It would be very noticeable for hills.

So a BB kit = Low end tor-ques = walk up hills = smile on my face. Will be looking in to it.

I would opt for the big bore and a slip on muffler. I ran a 290 on my 2012 YZF and stage 1 cams and it was a great motor. Lot's of bottom end. On my 17FX I have an FMF 4.1 carbon/TI slip on and the cylinder works 270 Kit. This bike rips in 3rd gear on singletrack.

I was looking at the Cylinderworks kit with out installing the crank.  Was that all you did to get to 270 on your newer bike?  Do you think nthat mod with out the crank is worth it?

Yes, the 270 kit, 13/50 gearing and the custom map and the bike rips.

I would just change the sprocket(s). I went the exhaust route and most of the gains are in your head. They're mostly just louder. Put the coin for your inevitable next bike.
