Low amp external fuel pump

Recommended Posts

Looking to run a external fuel pump on my 17 501. Having trouble finding a external fuel pump that only draws 2-3 amps. Need to have hose barbs on each end. Factory fuel pump has a bleed port on suction end and no hose barb. Needs to pump at lease 50 psi at 2 amps. Auto fuel pumps pump to much volume, at a high amp rate so will not work. Anyone have any ideas. THANK YOU

Not going to happen unless it is an internal pump. That much psi , low volume means a bike pump. External ones draw 5 to 10 amps (and push a lot of volume). Internal one less draw but they run very hot and use fuel as a coolant.

Thanks for the reply, I should of mentioned this is for a snowbike application. Do you know of a low draw pump that could be mounted external. I know this is a trial and error project. Thanks

None that meet your specs. All are high GPH ones for cars. Bikes mount them all in the tank. The link DaveCR provided is pretty good.

Plenty of PSI, claims low draw but what does that mean without numbers?

Home brew Fi systems from megasquirt and microsquirt?
