KYB SSS bushing

In the middle of rebuilding my Yamaha KYB 48mm SSS forks, I screwed up (by following the manual!) and got the outer bushing (aka "slide metal") stuck in the outer fork tube.

How can I get it out? I don't have a bearing puller big enough. I don't have a punch long enough. I don't think there's a lip on the top anyway. Cut it with a Dremel very carefully?

Di grinder is my go to for cutting bushings.. just carefully cut a slot or 2 and it should fall out.

Typo

Even a wooden rod can be used to punch them out
