Changing TPMS sensors DIY

Recommended Posts

Got a 2008 truck that has 9yrs old now on original TPMS sensors, and its showing low pressure light when pressure is fine.

The battery is almost certainly dead by now on at least one of the 5 tires.....yes the spare has one too.

Anyway, I got the new sensors and OBDII programmer all figured out.

My question is how hard is it to break the bead on one side of tire (easy part), mash the tire down with  a press or jack, then reach inside pull out old sensor and install new one?

Couple of vids on youtube make it look rather easy.

Anyone done it?
