Blowing fuses to the fuel pump

Went out on my 2018 fe501 this morning and got a half mile from the truck, engine died. Fuse 1 (fuel pump) and fuse 2 (not sure yet—haven’t gotten home to look in the manual) blown. 

Replaced both with the spares, and only got 50 yards the second time. 

The bike has 25 hours on it. The only electrical issue of any kind is the back of the fender that holds the license plate broke off 10 hours ago and ripped the wires apart, leaving my lights not working, but my brake light and front blinkers still do.

I don’t have much experience with electrical stuff. I searched the forum and google several pages deep. 

Any ideas?

You have a short to ground downstream of the blown fuse. Trace the wires out physically with a bright light, I bet you'll find a spot with no insulation where its grounding to the frame. Good luck.
