First ride on the new enduro sled...this trail is one of my hard enduro playgrounds on the dirtbike. Had to hike a bunch of sections going up, but was able to ride all the gnarly sections on the way down.

Took the Canyon out for another ride up in the high country. While this loop is only 11 miles, the mileage doesn't do justice to how hard this loop is. Max elevation was 9250 feet.

Did my semi-regular XC loop of 20km with punchy technical singletrack. Was going to swap out my bars before, but did that afterwards. Replaced the 20mm rise 780 wide Renthall Fatbars with 40mm / 800mm , but removed a 10mm stem spacer. See how that feels tomorrow.

This was probably the toughest climb I've ridden. There was a couple sections of extended double digit grades on a climb that was over 9 miles long and at elevation.

This part didn't seem too bad, had a really nice view. Little did I know that the grade was going to pitch waaaay up.

I'm really disappointed that I didn't get a picture of the road sign warning trucks about the 26% grade.

Pretty happy with this climb, an improvement by 2:30!

Nice! It's a good feeling setting a PR. That looks like a sharp climb.

Did some Forest Circus backroads this A.M...only saw a handful of cars. I wanted to do a longer loop, but 1/2 through the ride, I started feeling kinda crappy. Ordinarily I don't mind the heat or elevation, but I felt a bit over-heated midway through the ride.

I can't believe I've never done this climb before...lot's of undulations, with little double-digit kickers. I probably tried too hard on this one, this is the climb that nearly did me in. This isn't a heavily traveled segment, but as someone with the build of a sprinter, I'll take a KOM any legit way I can get one...

2x8min FTP test but I flat ran out during the second 8 minute run. 309W average for the first 8 minute run.

Also... Bike felt kinda funny and made some clicking noises. Turns out, I didn't tighten the crankset all the way!

And my tire went flat during the car ride home.

Did the crank mess you up or did you go too hot on the first effort? I need to throw my bike on the trainer and least do a 20min test. While I know I've gotten faster on the longer efforts I don't know if it's because of losing some weight or a combo of that and an increased FTP.

That's the metric that I've been wanting to improve on at least. I'm more of a sprinter that can climb well for my weight. It's a different discipline, but the short course XC races here kill me. Most of the courses aren't too technical and the winner is usually the guy who is consistently the strongest over an hour. The only time I have a chance in those races, is if the course is technical or there is inclimate weather that slows the avg pace.

I burned up all my energy.

But I also cannot comment if my numbers were accurate... That said, I did the same test about 3 months ago and got a very similar number (308W).

Well, I'll post my ride from this morning. I didn't really plan to ride longer than 2 hours, so I didn't bring food. I rode longer than planned and coupled with an intense ride yesterday, I could feel myself on the verge of bonking.

I plan on doing some marathon-style xc races, so I'll have to make sure my fueling strategy is sound. I know if I stay up on the carb intake, I can ride a race-pace for 3+ hours.
