Sat Dec 30-hungry valley conditions/crowding?

Hi All, NorCal rider here, been riding in Ridgecrest the last few days, thinking about heading up to Kernville/Kennedy Meadows OR possibly heading over to Gorman Hungry Valley and Mt Frazier. I guess it’ll be dry and dusty. I just checked and the fire closure for the national forest has been relaxed. Had a great ride there in June. Will Gorman be a zoo on this holiday weekend?

Probably.  I avoid that place on weekends, especially holiday weekends.

Good chose. I took the family to Gorman yesterday and there were a lot of people there.

Frazier is a no go. Entire southern Low Padres is closed to entry period due to the Thomas fire.

Kennedy meadows may be all snow though. Just road cal city and wagon wheel and that was awesome conditions and no one was there too.

Like I said in my OP, the closure has been relaxed and no longer includes Mt Frazier

relaxed or not, the gates from hungry valley were closed Saturday

Now it's merely a WINTER closure instead of a FIRE closure,  which normally means, closed until May

in recent years, the rangers have been closing it by calendar instead of weather.  before, it was after the first real storm
