DR350se pickup coil resistance?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I've got a no start on a 99 350se. No spark, tested the charge coil at 470 ohms, but both pickup coils show open circuit. So is the whole stator unit no good, is it replaced as one unit?

Sheepishly I may add that when I first put this bike back together (a complete rebuild) I mistakingly pluggd the 3 yellow wire stator connector into the 3 wire connector housing the red, orange and black wires. Then turned the key on. Well the stator cover got real hot before I turned key off and unplugged the wire. Amazingly the bike ran for a few minutes after I got everything plugged in properly, seemed to run fine but for some back firing on decel.  Then it quit and I have the no spark, no flashing on the white/blue wire going to the ignition coil.

Is the stator now dead?  :banghead:

Probably - wires are color coded for a reason

and at over $400 for a new stator  - probably try for an aftermarket one

I really should have known better, but after I got everything back together and plugged in, those two plugs were the only ones left and sitting right next to each other. The RR was sitting in a box buried in the garage somewhere,  IDIOT.

I have searched, but no aftermarket companies seem to have for the DR350.

Anybody know where I can find one?
