2001-2002 Yz125 silencer fitment

Recommended Posts

I’m looking at getting rid of my current banged up pro circuit r304 silencer on my 2001 yz125 and replacing it with the more modern looking version of the r304. I found a parted out 2002 yz125 and it has the r304 I’m looking for in good condition for cheap. I’m wondering if the 2002 r304 will mount up with my 2001 silencer mounts. If anyone has any insight let me know, thanks.

The newer (2002 & up) silencers will not fit the older (1996-2001) YZs. The attachment tabs on the subframe are in different locations and set at different angles, so there is virtually no compatibility between them.

Damn, that’s sucks, it was a good deal. But he is also selling Vforce reeds and an aftermarket clutch basket and clutch plates, would there be a chance that these would be compatible with my bike?

Checking part numbers is a good place to find matches.

Thanks man, that helps a lot, how much would you pay for both of those parts used if they were in good condition?

I usually go through "Completed Listings" on eBay to see what comparable items sold for. That gets you in the ballpark for pricing.
