Fuel pump plug fix

I was taking my fuel tank off my 2009 Kawasaki KXF450 and noticed the fuel pump plug ground wire was ripped off. Is there any way to fix a plug that has epoxy in it? I looked online for a replacement but they only sell the whole unit and its $350. Seems like there would be some solution to this. I know the fuel pump is a important part and poses safey risk if fails. So I might end up having to buy a complete unit if i cannot find a good safe way to fix mine. If I could find a used one that is bad i could just replace the plug.

i'd probably pick out the epoxy to get enough wire to solder to first

Remove epoxy, solder wire, back fill with high temp RTV.

What I would do is take a pick or small screw driver and heat it up the tip with a heat gun or torch and use the hot pick to melt the epoxy or plastic around that wire . Solder it and re epoxy .

I repaired one by carefully grinding the epoxy away using a dremel carbide bits.

Soldered the wire slid heat shrink up in place to cover the repair then packed with high temp RTV.

Owner never has had a problem with it.

Thanks to all for the fast response. I will try to finish it up tomorrow. i just used a small drill bit but will use a pick and a heat gun to hopefully pick the rest out. Hopefully I will be able to pick it out enough to be able to solder it back together.  Wish manufactures would sell parts like these. 10 dollar plug vs 350 dollar fuel pump.
