clutch adjustment

My clutch is super tight, lets out right at the end and is hard to pull in. Sometimes after riding for a while i have to use full force of my left arm to get it in. What are ways i can adjust that to be a lot softer? or do i need to get a new cable?

Could be the cable, could be gunk and crap in the cable, and could be the perch.

125 or 250? Also, OEM perch?

If I were you, I would just order a new Motion Pro cable and then lube it and install. If that doesnt do it, I would look. Internally and make sure the clutch acutator arm isn’t binding. You can pop off your ignition cover and check it out.

A 125 should have a very light pull, 250 is a bit heavier but not by much.

Clean the perch and lever and polish the pivot bolt then apply light grease.

Move the clutch lever perch toward the center of the bike so you hand gets max leverage at the end of the lever.

On older 125s make sure the cable did not touch the pipe and get burned.

Plates (friction) are ripe for a change. Cable is dry as hell or both.

I know the cable does have some gunk in it, it is an older cable too. Havnt changed it since ive woned the bike and it is a 125. So i meed to replace the cable?

Did you wind the adjuster in at all so the clutch grabs a bit sooner ? + easier on your hand

It was almost all the way in. The little bold it screws onto was almost all the way out. It is VERY hard on the little arm thing that goes in the case to the clutch basket. Could that be clutch springs?
